Residential Drug Rehab Parma

Residential Drug Rehab in Parma Ohio

Parma, Ohio, is a great place to live, work, and play, and has been recognized as the third safest city in America with a population over 25,000. The city has much going for it, with good schools, popular shopping areas, and low crime rates. However, residents of this city face their fair share of trouble, especially with the opioid drug problem that has seemed to permeate even the best of cities.

Today in every city in America, prescription opioids and street drugs like heroin are disrupting lives and communities. What was once a large city problem that affected low-income individuals has grown into an epidemic that touches every socioeconomic group, including suburban, middle-class teens, and young adults

The city of Parma has been working to deal with the opioid crisis, and officials and community groups are working to educate the public about the dangers of prescription painkillers and other opioids and create awareness for the need for treatment. Bringing a problem like a drug addiction out into the open is the best way to prevent it from continuing, and to provide help for those who need it.

The Ridge is a residential drug and alcohol treatment center located nearby in Cincinnati that provides real healing for individuals and families struggling with addiction. We treat clients with confidentiality and respect and help individuals get sober and get back to the life they are used to, only without the burden of addiction following them. We offer the highest quality facility and programming because we believe clients should feel comfortable and at home while residing in our facility.

Para Inpatient Drug Rehab Resources

In today’s society, prescription painkillers are used frequently to help patients manage chronic and severe acute pain. The problem arises when individuals overuse the medications, or they are overprescribed, and the individual becomes dependent on the medication. Problems also occur when drug addicts borrow, steal, or buy prescription painkillers from those who have a prescription. Too many of these medications are being bought and sold on the black market, are being taken from medicine cabinets, and are being shared among family and friends.

Prescription painkillers that are abused are dangerous, and they often serve as a gateway to other, stronger opioids. Heroin is a natural next step for those addicted to prescription painkillers who want a better high, and fentanyl and the large animal medication called carfentanil are also abused by former prescription painkiller addicts. All of these drugs are addictive and all can easily cause long term side effects, overdose, and death.

When drug abuse occurs, it needs to be addressed. Treatment options are numerous, and families looking for a good rehab program have many questions they need to ask. One of the most basic decisions to make when choosing a rehab program is the level of care. Inpatient, or residential treatment, allows the person to live at the rehab facility, where they are supervised and take part in full-day programming and therapy. A step down from residential treatment is outpatient therapy, where the person lives at home and participates in regular therapy and counseling at the rehab facility.

For most people first starting an addiction treatment program, inpatient treatment is the most appropriate option. This level of care ensures the individual stays sober and is present to participate in sessions. Those who have graduated from a residential treatment program or are more stable in their sobriety and recovery can usually enroll in outpatient therapy. These individuals need to remain committed to their program, stay sober, and attend sessions regularly.
