PHP Provides More Structure Than Weekly Outpatient Treatment

PHP provides a higher level of care than weekly outpatient treatment. Most people attend PHP three to five days per week, giving them dedicated time to focus on recovery while continuing to live at home. Because PHP is a daytime program with a significant weekly time commitment, some people adjust their work schedules or take time away from work during treatment.

Common Questions About Partial Hospitalization Program Near Powell, OH

  • How long does PHP usually last?

Most people participate in our PHP for two to six weeks, but the exact length depends on your progress and clinical needs. Your treatment team reviews your progress regularly and recommends when you’re ready to transition to the next level of care.

  • Is PHP the same as inpatient treatment?

No. PHP provides intensive daytime treatment while allowing you to return home each evening, whereas inpatient treatment includes 24-hour care and overnight stays. Your clinical assessment helps determine whether PHP offers the right level of support or if inpatient treatment would be more appropriate.

  • What is the difference between PHP and IOP?

PHP provides more intensive treatment than IOP, with treatment typically offered five days a week compared to IOP’s three to five evening sessions. Your clinical assessment helps determine whether PHP or IOP is the right level of care based on your symptoms, daily functioning, and support needs.

  • Do I need a referral for PHP?

Usually, no. Most people can contact our admissions team directly to schedule an assessment, although some insurance plans may require a referral or prior authorization before treatment begins.

  • Will my employer be notified if I enroll in PHP?

No. Your treatment is confidential, and we will not notify your employer without your written permission unless disclosure is required by law. If you need time away from work, our team can discuss your options while protecting your privacy.
