Luxury Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) Rehab in Cincinnati, Ohio
Joint Commission–accredited private residential treatment on a private 51-acre estate, twenty minutes east of Cincinnati. Physician-led, 24/7 nursing, full continuum of care.
What is partial hospitalization (PHP) at The Ridge?
The Ridge’s partial hospitalization program is the structured daytime clinical luxury rehab care that bridges residential treatment and standard life. It’s built for professionals stepping down from residential, and for people whose clinical assessment supports direct entry without 24/7 monitoring. Programming runs Monday through Friday with the same physician-led clinical team that runs our residential program. Your treatment plan is built around your clinical needs, dual-diagnosis profile, and transition back to work and home.
Where PHP Sits in the Levels of Care
PHP is the third phase in our continuum of care. Most clients arrive here after residential, though some clinical profiles support direct entry from intake.

PHP Rehab in Cincinnati FAQ
-
Who is a good candidate for PHP at The Ridge?
PHP is appropriate for people who have completed residential treatment and are stepping down, for people who need intensive therapy but don’t need 24/7 monitoring, and for those whose clinical assessment supports starting at PHP without residential first. If you need medical detox or your home environment isn’t safe for recovery, residential is the right starting point — not PHP. -
How long does PHP last at The Ridge?
Most PHP clients complete the program in two to six weeks, though length varies by clinical need, progress, dual-diagnosis profile, and insurance authorization. Your case manager reviews progress regularly and recommends step-down to IOP or outpatient when you’re ready. The length isn’t fixed up front — it follows your treatment plan. -
Can I work full-time while in PHP?
Generally no — full-time work during PHP is difficult. Programming runs Monday through Friday during business hours (9:00 AM to 2:30 PM most days, 1:30 PM to 7:00 PM on Tuesdays at our Milford campus). Most clients take medical leave, use FMLA, or coordinate part-time arrangements with their employer. If keeping a full work schedule is non-negotiable, our evening IOP is built for that. -
How does PHP at The Ridge handle dual diagnosis?
Dual-diagnosis care is integrated into PHP, not separated out. Psychiatric services and medication management run alongside your therapy schedule, coordinated by the same clinical team. Most PHP clients have some co-occurring condition — depression, anxiety, PTSD, bipolar — and the program is built assuming integrated treatment is the norm, not the exception. Our dual diagnosis program details the integrated care model. -
What happens during Tuesday family programming?
Tuesday at our Milford campus runs from 1:30 PM to 7:00 PM, with optional family programming from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Family education, structured family sessions, and skills work for both clients and their family members happen in that window. It’s optional — but for most clients, having family involvement built into the weekly schedule is one of the most clinically valuable parts of PHP. -
Is PHP at The Ridge covered by insurance?
Most major PPO plans cover PHP under mental health and substance use benefits. The Ridge is primarily out-of-network with most carriers; out-of-network reimbursement varies by plan. Our admissions team verifies your specific coverage, deductible status, and out-of-pocket exposure while you’re on the phone — so you’ll know your real cost before any decision. The Ridge does not accept Medicaid. -
Can I start at PHP without residential first?
Yes, some clients enter directly into PHP without residential. The starting point depends on your clinical assessment — substance history, severity of dependence, home environment stability, and whether medical detox is needed. If you don’t need 24/7 monitoring and your home life is stable, PHP may be the right entry point. Admissions will tell you honestly which level fits your situation.
