Mary Jo Stelzer

Mary Jo started her recovery journey on October 26, 1997 in Southern California, where she was born and raised. Together with her husband (who is her biggest supporter), and their three young children they moved to Cincinnati, Ohio in 2000.

Immediately immersing herself in the recovery community, she became actively involved in volunteering while pursuing further education as a certified sober coach, sober escort and CDCA. She was on the Board of First Step Home and later worked at a local, family-owned business. The years of hard work paid off and Mary Jo joined The Ridge Ohio in 2018 as an Intake Specialist, welcoming clients into the program and ensuring they are set up for success.

Now serving as a Recovery Specialist, Mary Jo works with clients from the beginning of their journey with The Ridge Ohio through to their alumni participation, visiting clients prior to admission, during their stay and assisting with their discharge plans. She also liaises with family members in guiding them on their own recovery path and offering valuable support.
