Residential Drug Rehab Indianapolis

Residential Drug Rehab in Indianapolis

Indianapolis is a Midwestern city that, like many others, has struggled in recent years with the opioid epidemic. This problem has plagued states across the nation, but areas of the Midwest seem to be hit particularly hard, partly because of drug routes from Mexico that travel through the middle of our country. Sharp increases in heroin abuse, as well as more dangerous drugs such as fentanyl and carfentanil, have led to an increase in overdose deaths. The state of Indiana has experienced increasing numbers of opioid overdoses, because of the increase in popularity of these drugs, as well as the unpredictability of many of these substances.

Indianapolis community organizations and lawmakers have worked to combat the opioid abuse epidemic over the past several years. Prescription drug monitoring programs have been put in place, limits have been placed on opioid prescriptions, and physicians and patients alike are being educated on the dangers of abusing these types of medications. Still, there are many who are already caught up in opioid addiction and are currently moving from prescription painkillers to harder drugs like heroin and finally to extremely potent drugs like fentanyl and carfentanil. The result is a more severe addiction to these drugs and a much higher risk of overdose. More needs to be done to help those who are already dealing with drug addiction, in order to help them out of that addiction and set them on course for a sober, healthy life.

The problem arises when we try to provide help for those who are addicted to drugs and alcohol but are not receptive to that help. Families and loved ones can talk to the person, negotiate with them, and even plead with them and beg them to get help. Until the person realizes the severity of their addiction and the danger they are in, as well as the impact their addiction is having on their family, they are not likely to accept that help. At these times, it is helpful to enlist the support of an interventionist, a professional who can mediate talks between concerned family members and the addict, in order to convince the addict to accept help. Once the person agrees to enroll in treatment, the family and loved ones need to move quickly to get that person into rehab before they change their mind.

At The Ridge, we offer professional services that assist families of loved ones, including intervention services. Our licensed and experienced staff can help loved ones prepare what to say when they confront the addict, and we guide families through the intervention process. We also conduct assessments on each enrolling client, in order to determine their need and the level of care that would be appropriate for them. Each person we serve is important, and we tailor each treatment plan for the individual, in order to offer the very best chance at success.

We assess each client as they enroll, so we can recommend the treatment type and methods that will be most effective for them.

There are two main levels of care for drug rehab: inpatient and outpatient. Inpatient is the most structured care, and it provides a safe facility for individuals to live in while they go through the important first few days and weeks of sobriety. Inpatient rehab offers constant supervision and a break away from pressures and triggers of everyday life. Residential treatment is perfect for those new to sobriety that need extra supervision and therapy.

Outpatient treatment is designed for those who are more stable in their sobriety, who can live at home and remain sober on their own. This type of rehab is perfect for those who have been through residential treatment and are ready to start getting back to their lives but still need and want the support and encouragement that comes with regular participation in individual and group therapy sessions.
